Happy Birthday A. J. from and "ole" friend of
the Patsy Cossey and Playland
Park ERA. Looks like we both made it to "67".
My birthday was Jan 6th. I'm
sending you a picture that I found in my Dad's
stuff. They always told me
that one of the two kids (the one on the left)
outside the fence was you.
Man what a switch- me in the racecar and you
behind the fence : ) Lots of
luck this year with the 14 Team. I think you
made a good choice with Stacy
Compton.

Happy Birthday to the first hero I ever had.
I was 4 years old and used to
run around my backyard in a plastic racing helmet
and goggles my mom and dad
bought for me saying "I'm AJ Foyt". Not sure I
really even KNEW who or what
an AJ Foyt was then. When they took me to the
track the noise scared me so
badly I cried til they carried me out to the
infield. But when I was older I
fell in love with the Speedway and racing and
never missed practice, testing
,the race or anything else at the Speedway,
including the day when AJ
retired. This fall I took a ride in Jack
Hewitt's 2-seat sprint car around
Terre Haute and was just blown away to think of
all the heros that had gone
around that same track, AJ at the top of the
list. What a thrill! Thanks
for the memories and wishing you many more years
of happiness and success!

Would you please give Anthony Joesph my best
wishes for a Happy
Birthday, and tell him I don't give a damn how
old he gets I am still
more than nine years older.
You might also tell maybe it's time to start
shopping around for a nice,
comfortable rocking chair --- this retirement
business isn't too bad.

Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to the man
who
made open wheel racing such a fantastic sport.
I'm
a 16 year straight Indianapolis 500 attendee and
one
of my favorite moments was in '92, early in the
race
in turn three, and you had to hit the binders
because
of a slower car's dumb move. All four rotors lit
up like
hell itself and you went by shaking your fist at
the
driver. What incredible car control.
Also, watched you many times at the 24 Hours
of
Daytona.
Happy 67 more, Mr Foyt
