A.J.'s Indy 500 career started when he
replaced Jimmy Bryan in the bowes Seal Fast Special.

Foyt helps George Bignotti unload the indy
car in Gasoline Alley in 1961.

Tony Hulman rides with A.J. on his victory lap in 1977 for the first and last time. He passed away that October.

A.J. Foyt (center) qualified on the front row for the 75th running of
the Indianapolis 500 in 1991. His row-mates were Rick Mears (pole) and
Mario Andretti.
