Fun NHIS Facts:
• NHIS is the largest sporting arena in the Northeast.
• No speedway on the Winston Cup circuit copes with as much
drastic weather as NHIS, with cold winters followed by hot
summers. During the inaugural event, camp chairs sunk two inches
deep into the freshly paved asphalt.
Larry Foyt on NHIS:
"New Hampshire is a very challenging racetrack. It seems they have
changed it around about every year. I believe they repaved it
again, so that will force us to adjust our setup.
"A second racing groove has yet to come in at NHIS, so track
position will be a big key to the race."
• Larry competed at NHIS twice in the NASCAR Busch Series, with a
best finish of 19th.
• A.J. Foyt Racing has competed six times at NHIS. There best
results came in the first race in 2000, when they qualified 11th
and finished 12th.
