"I was really excited about racing at Charlotte again. I had run there in an ARCA race in the fall and we had had a decent test there early in the month. Plus I just like the 1.5 mile tracks anyway. Qualifying rained out so we started according to the points. Even though I'm 25th in the driver's points, I'm 27th in the owner's standings and that's the points that NASCAR goes by. I felt like we were better in race trim anyway so I wasn't too worried. Early in the race, however, there was a bottle-up. Lil E dove under me and Shane Hall tried to go on the outside of me but he hit me in the right rear corner. He wrecked hard but I was able to save it. The right rear quarter panel was messed up so I had to pit to get it straightened out. The car was real loose and the race went green for a pretty long stint. I ended up losing a lap. Once the yellow came out and I did pit, they adjusted the rear spoiler and I was running lap times comparable to the top 15. We were running 26th with 20 laps to go and broke an inner valve spring on the motor. That cut the power back quite a bit and we lost two more laps in those final 20 laps. We finished 41st, it was my worst finish of the season but we managed to hold onto 25th in the points."

On Lowe's Motor Speedway: "We had a decent test at Lowe's in the beginning of the month so I think we'll run pretty good there. I'm hoping we can get back in the top 20. I like the 1.5 mile tracks maybe because I've been on them more. Going to a track like Charlotte where I've actually raced before is a big help to my team. As soon as we unload the Harrah's Monte Carlo, we are working to get it to handle the way it should. At the new tracks, I spend the first 20 minutes or so just figuring out where to run.  Sometimes you end up chasing the car as you're learning the track. Here I can concentrate on the car."

Of the 13 tracks that Foyt has raced on this year, 12 of them are brand new to him.

At Nazareth Speedway last week: "I liked Nazareth. It reminded me of a road course because it has three distinctly different corners. You barely touch the brakes through one and two and in turn three you're on them as hard as you can be. I felt that we had a better car than what it showed. It was tight, tight, tight all day. I don't think we adjusted enough for the cooler weather too. But it was better to be tight than loose." Foyt started 28th and finished 26th.

Foyt is 25th in the NASCAR Busch Series standings.
