Cabo Wabo® Tequila and AJ Foyt Racing Align for 2008


WALLER, TX March 14, 2008--Cabo Wabo®, the original Rock and Roll tequila, will once again join the A.J. Foyt Racing team this year as an associate sponsor of the No. 14 Indy car driven by Darren Manning in the IndyCar Series.


The marketing partnership with Foyt’s IndyCar team marks the third straight year for the award-winning, ultra-premium tequila brand, founded by legendary rocker Sammy Hagar.

Hagar attended the IndyCar race at Infineon Raceway last August, watching the race from A.J. Foyt’s pitbox stand. In honor of Sammy attending his first ever IRL IndyCar race, the crew sported song titles on their race day uniforms, including “I Can’t Drive 55.” Moreover, Vic Johnson, a guitarist with Hagar’s Waboritas band, was also on hand and served as an honorary crew member for the race.


The IndyCar Series opens its 2008 season with a swing through the Sunshine State. Homestead-Miami Speedway hosts the first race on Saturday night, March 29th; it will be televised live on ESPN2 at 8 pm. The following weekend the series competes on the streets of St. Petersburg amidst a festival-like atmosphere. That race will be televised live by ESPN Sunday afternoon (April 6th) starting at 2:30 pm.
