An Inside Peek to the
Super Bowl Fun

MIAMI (Feb. 6) --So what's it like to
be on the inside of a Super Bowl contender?
We contacted A.J. Foyt IV about what was
going on down in Miami and asked him to send
back a schedule of the festivities
surrounding his involvement at the Super
Bowl. For those of you who may have missed
it this past summer, A.J. IV married Casey
Irsay, daughter of Jim Irsay, owner of the
Indianapolis Colts, the AFC Champions who
are in Miami contending for their second
Super Bowl win in three years.
He obliged by sending nine texts!
The couple flew down to Miami Wednesday
afternoon on the Irsay family jet and then
joined Casey’s sisters and family for dinner
that evening. “When we walked in, we saw
Lynn Swann and Barry Sanders and knew we
were at the Super Bowl,” he texted.
Thursday was spent lounging around the pool
at the beautiful Fairmont Turnberry Isle
Resort where the Irsay family is staying--as
is A.J. IV’s mother Nancy and his sisters
Tonia and Casie. His dad Tony was hosting
hunters at the Foyt Game Ranch this week.
Thursday evening they went to a Super Bowl
Welcome Party from 7 – 10pm. “Everybody was
there from Tony George to Stephen Stills
(rock star),” he texted.
On Friday, A.J. IV played in a golf
tournament at the famed Turnberry Resort
which was hosted by his father-in-law for
his family and friends. Friday evening they
attended the Commissioner’s Party at the
Convention Center in Ft. Lauderdale. Among
the “cool people” that A.J. IV met there
were Colt McCoy, quarterback for the Texas
Longhorns, and Tim Tebow, the Florida Gators
star QB and 2007 Heisman Trophy winner. A.J.
IV is a huge college football fan and has
followed it since his high school days. He
also saw NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and
former Dallas Cowboys QB Troy Aikman.
Plans for Saturday include another
Irsay-hosted golf tournament which will have
lots of great prizes up for grabs. That will
be followed by a big party and dinner at
their hotel. Irsay is bringing down a band
from Indiana as well as the same Hoosier
comedian who entertained them in 2007 when
the Colts won their first Super Bowl.
On Sunday, they will leave for Sun Life
Stadium around 3pm and watch the game from
the Owners suite. A.J. IV texted, “Then we
watch the colts win 34-17 (my prediction),
then who knows what happens Sunday if we
win. All I know is that there will be a lot
more partying involved. Back home Monday
with a hangover. Go colts!”
Super Bowl XLIV between the Indianapolis
Colts and the New Orleans Saints will be
televised on CBS Sunday evening starting at
6pm. GO COLTS!!
