SENIOR RACE ENGINEER

AJ Foyt Racing is an American professional open-wheel racing team in the NTT

INDYCAR SERIES, with operations in Indianapolis, Indiana and Waller, Texas.

The team has been a cornerstone for open-wheel racing for decades and our owner, AJ

Foyt is considered one of the greatest racers of all time. We have a commitment to

success on and off the track, and we are looking for new talent to help push the team to

the next level.

We offer an interesting and varied opportunity on a dynamic and highly motivated

team. Your work environment includes flexible working hours and a positive team

atmosphere. Many of the meals on the road are provided and a daily per diem is also

included while traveling. This is a salaried full-time position with a 401(k) retirement

plan, medical, dental, and vision benefits available.

Role Overview

The Senior Race Engineer is responsible for all the operations that involve the racing

car. He/She is also the person responsible for the overall performance of the vehicle.

• Extensive data analysis and video review

• Work directly with the IndyCar Driver to optimize performance

• Provide assistance to the Technical Director to maximize car performance

• The ability to make decisions quickly and accurately in a high-pressure

environment

• Position requires extensive travel to races and tests

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics, or

within a comparable field of study

• Minimum of 5 years of professional motorsport experience as Race Engineer

• Background in vehicle dynamics

• Experience analyzing logged vehicle data

• Excellent communication skills

• Detail-oriented, organized, and proven experience to multi-task

• Willingness to travel up to 17 race weekends as well as travel for testing

throughout the year

DATA ACQUISITION ENGINEER

Role Overview
Reporting to the AJ Foyt IndyCar Director of Performance Engineering in our
Indianapolis location, the Data Acquisition Engineer encompasses responsibilities described below.  You will need to display a personal responsibility within the necessary job scope. 
•    Preparation and maintenance of the data system as well as data collection
•    Extensive data analysis
•    Work directly with the chief mechanic, performance and race engineer 
•    Provide pre and post data, timing and scoring reports
•    Requires extensive travel to races and tests

 

Job Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics, or
   within a comparable field of study
•    Minimum of 2 years of professional motorsport experience
•    Experience analyzing logged vehicle data
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Detail oriented, organized, and proven experience to multi-task
•    Ability to make decisions quickly and accurately in a high-pressure environment

Indianapolis location, this position encompasses responsibilities described below.  You will need to display a personal responsibility within the necessary job scope. 

The Performance Engineer is responsible for all the operations that involve the racing car. He/She is also the person responsible for the overall performance of the vehicle,  maximizing driver performance and supporting the Race Engineer. •    Extensive data analysis and video review
•    Work directly with the IndyCar Driver to optimize driving line and refine
   technique for fuel and tire management
•    Provide assistance to the Race Engineer in making decisions to maximize vehicle performance
•    Make decisions quickly and accurately in a high-pressure environment

Job Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics, or
   within a comparable field of study
•    Minimum of 2 years of professional motorsport experience
