Jack Mason Brand Launches A.J. Foyt Limited Edition Watch

DALLAS--Texas-born watch company, Jack Mason, announces the launch of their new limited-edition watch to celebrate the legendary race car driver, A.J. Foyt, in time for the NTT IndyCar Series finale this weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif.

This A.J. Foyt Limited Edition Chronograph is the second watch in Jack Mason’s Texas Icons Series, and it introduces a new platform of Jack Mason racing watches, the Camber. Camber is both the tilt built into the road at a bend or curve and the vertical tilt of the wheels on a car. The degree of camber controls the car’s ability to maintain speed at these critical points, and it’s especially important in auto racing. In collaboration with A.J. Foyt Enterprises, this racing-inspired timepiece was created to celebrate not only the historic career achievements, but also how Foyt changed the course of racing in Texas forever.

Foyt began his career in 1953 on the small dirt tracks around his hometown of Houston where he resides today. The first race car driver to win four Indianapolis 500 championships, Foyt is the only driver to win racing’s triple crown: the Indy 500, the Daytona 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Since retiring from driving Indy cars in 1993, Foyt has continued to build a loyal fan base as an active team owner.

The watch was designed around Foyt’s historic Coyote/Foyt-engined race car. Coyote, the name given to the chassis built by A.J. Foyt’s team for the USAC National Championship (Indy car) series including the Indy 500, was used from 1966 to 1981. Foyt completed 140 starts in the car and notched 24 victories. Each limited-edition timepiece has the Coyote logo on the dial, and the red, white and black colors of the logo are incorporated into each design element of this 42mm Chronograph.

Foyt’s iconic number 14 is in place of the 4 o’clock and his nickname Super Tex is in place of the 6 o’clock. The caseback design features a signed version of one of Foyt’s well known portraits and the edition number. The 42mm diameter case features a Time Module Caliber VK63 movement with a snapback chronograph function, giving a swift motion to the second hand when reset.

The A.J. Foyt Limited Edition Box Set comes complete with A.J. Foyt’s personal signature, a three-hole Italian leather red and black racing strap, a numbered edition card with a signature red wax stamp, and a custom designed informational pamphlet on Foyt’s racing career achievements and accolades.
