Bart Harrison Set to Join AJ Foyt Racing in 2027 INDY NXT by Firestone Campaign

INDIANAPOLIS  (October 22, 2026) — AJ Foyt Racing has signed Bart Harrison to its 2027 INDY NXT by Firestone lineup, marking the next step in the young Briton’s career. Harrison will contest his first full season of INDY NXT competition after making two starts in 2026 with HMD Motorsports, AJ Foyt Racing’s strategic alliance partner.

Harrison’s addition builds on the team’s continued investment in developing emerging talent. Gaining his first INDY NXT experience late in the 2026 season, Harrison enters the new campaign with valuable familiarity with the car and the series.

“I’m really excited to join AJ Foyt Racing for my first full season in INDY NXT,” commented Harrison. “It’s a team with an incredible history in the INDYCAR paddock, and to have the opportunity to be part of that is something I’m very grateful for. After getting my first taste of the series this past season, I’m looking forward to building on that experience and continuing to develop as a driver. I know there will be a lot to take in over preseason testing, and I’m ready to put in the work.”

The 19-year-old from Nunnington, North Yorkshire, England, showed his potential with a top-10 finish in his INDY NXT debut at Portland (Ore.) International Raceway.

“We’re happy to welcome Bart Harrison to our INDY NXT program for 2027,” said Team President Larry Foyt. “Bart did a nice job at the recent Chris Griffis test, and we were impressed with his performance and approach. We see a lot of potential in him and look forward to working together.”

Harrison began his racing career in karting at eight; five years later he won the title in IAME Winter Cup’s X30 Junior category in Valencia in 2020 and again in 2021. The accomplishment made him the category’s only two-time winner.

He continued to build his experience in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy and British Kart Championship before making the transition to single-seater racing. Harrison progressed through the British F4 Championship, Italian F4 Championship and GB3 Championship, gaining experience across different racing environments.

For the 2026 season, Harrison expanded his international racing experience with Double R Racing in Eurocup-3 while also making his first appearances in INDY NXT by Firestone.

His move to AJ Foyt Racing gives him a chance to build on that foundation within an established INDYCAR organization. The team returned to INDY NXT competition in 2026 and delivered a strong first season back, recording two victories, eight Firestone P1 Awards, and four podium finishes. As the organization prepares for its second year in the championship, Harrison will join a program looking to carry that momentum into 2027.

Having already completed the Chris Griffis Memorial Test this month, Harrison is set to participate in the series’ preseason testing program, which begins with the official series test at Barber Motorsports Park in early November.
