Race Report: Grand Prix of Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (August 9, 2026) -- Starting from the pole position in the Grand Prix of Portland, rookie Alessandro de Tullio scored a wire-to-wire victory in the INDY NXT by Firestone Series for his second victory of the season in the No. 14 AJ Foyt Racing entry.

 “Very happy to get the win here at Portland today," said the 20-year-old who earned his eighth pole position yesterday. "Yeah, it's been a long time coming after what happened in Road America [his victory was nullified for a sporting infraction]. I think we really deserve this. The whole team deserves this for all the hard work and for never giving up all year. So, I want to really thank them for giving me a great car again this weekend. The whole No. 14 crew’s done a great job. My engineer, Joe [D'Agostino] has been awesome. So, I'm glad to be on the road to finish off the season strong. Let’s keep it up and finish the last three strong.”

De Tullio led all 35 laps to claim his second victory of the year.

Teammate Nicholas Monteiro, who started 24th, finished 19th in the No. 4 AJ Foyt Racing entry.

De Tullio took the checkered flag 2.1885 seconds ahead of series veteran Lochie Hughes while Hughes’ teammate Max Taylor finished third.

Rookie Tymek Kucharczyk and veteran Jacob Abel rounded out the top five.

The next event for the INDY NXT by Firestone series will be held August 30 at The Milwaukee Mile and will be streamed on FS1 starting at 11 a.m. ET.
