A.J. Foyt’s ABC Supply team switched to Chevrolet this season with 25-year-old drivers Carlos Munoz (No. 14) and Conor Daly (No. 4). In the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix, Munoz finished 14th and 11th in Duals 1 and 2; Daly did not finish Dual 1 due to electrical woes and he was 12th in Dual 2.

CARLOS MUNOZ: “Texas changed its layout from last year and we tested there earlier this year. We made a lot of improvement from where we started the test but we still need to make a few more. It’s a really quick weekend but I’m looking forward to it. Last year I won the pole and led the first half of the race so it’s a really special track for me—it was my first IndyCar pole position. We’ll see what we have this year. It would be good to keep our recent momentum going and get another top-10 finish with the ABC Supply Chevrolet.”

CONOR DALY: "After a strong test at Texas earlier in the year I look forward to getting back to the track and getting going again. The race is always exciting under the lights and I know we'll put on another great show for the fans."

TEAM PRESIDENT LARRY FOYT on racing at Texas Motor Speedway: “I love racing at Texas, even though the last few years have proven difficult for the team there. We always want to race well here in front of many friends and family and a great group of ABC Supply friends and associates. It's been a difficult year as we learn more about the Chevrolet package and what the drivers want out of it. With that said, we learned a great deal at the test here earlier in the year. The engineering staff will apply what they have learned and we’ll see what we can do.”

Foyt on the new Dallara aero kit: “Dallara has been a great partner for IndyCar racing ever since they first came to the series in 1997. They build a very safe car and a lot of drivers can attest to that. INDYCAR mandated a universal aero kit for next season and chose Dallara to build it, which makes a lot of sense to me as we continually look to control costs for the owners and the manufacturers. I really like the look of the new car. It has a racy look to me and I think it will have a lot of appeal for the fans. Next season will be an exciting year for us as everyone is starting from ground zero with this aero kit unlike this year when we are trying to play catch-up.”

A.J. Foyt to return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans 50 years later: “A.J. Foyt has changed his mind about Le Mans. He used to say, “I went there as a rookie and won, I have no reason to go back.” However, with the 50th anniversary of that triumph he scored with co-driver Dan Gurney to become the only All-American team to win the historic endurance race, Foyt has decided to return to the site of one of his most prestigious victories. As a guest of Ford Performance, Foyt will visit the track and its museum, see his winning Ford Mark IV GT 40 again – he first saw it in April when he was awarded the Spirit of Ford award. The car was then loaned briefly to the IMS Museum in May to be part of the Foyt exhibit before being shipped to France for the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The race takes place June 17-18. “I am looking forward to seeing the course again. I know it has changed a lot over the past 50 years—I probably won’t even recognize it,” Foyt said.

Past Performance: Carlos Munoz’s best start is pole position which he won in last year’s rain-postponed race, and his best finish is sixth in 2015. Conor Daly’s only start – 21st -- came last year. He was involved in a crash with Josef Newgarden and could not compete when the rain-delayed race was resumed two months later. The Foyt team’s best start is on pole with Billy Boat in 1997, and their best finish is winning with Boat in 1998 (and also 1997 if you ask A.J.).

The company name will be on the engine cover of the No. 14 ABC Supply Chevrolet. Guests will receive the VIP treatment plus a Meet and Greet with Carlos Munoz.

ABC Supply celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. The company was founded in 1982 by Ken and Diane Hendricks with just three stores. A.J. Foyt’s iconic career is honored in an extraordinary exhibit at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. A.J. Foyt: A Legendary Exhibition presented by ABC Supply Co., Inc. runs through October 31. With additional support from Alfe Heat Treating and Chevrolet, the exhibit features nearly three dozen race cars that Foyt drove plus rare memorabilia from his personal collection.
