ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (June 20, 2026) -- AJ Foyt Racing enjoyed their best qualifying session of the NTT INDYCAR Series season as both Santino Ferrucci and Caio Collet qualified in the top 10 at Road America Saturday afternoon.
Ferrucci qualified the No. 14 Homes For Our Troops Chevrolet in seventh, barely missing out on the Firestone Fast 6 on the final lap around the picturesque but challenging four-mile road course. However, he will move back six spots on the grid due to an unapproved engine change.
"Overall, really happy," Ferrucci said. "After the test, coming here and unrolling, the Homes For Our Troops car was good. We've not been outside the top 10 yet this weekend. Qualifying, it was nice to get into the Fast 12. Kicking myself should have had another fast six for us, just like Barber. Same thing, just pushing all the way to the end of the lap, just losing it right over the line. It's just painful, you know. It's honestly happened to us three times this year, if you count Detroit [untimely red flag], so it's just a shame, but compared to last year's qualifying results, we are definitely well ahead of the curve, so I can’t complain. You've got to look at the good. Starting 13th with the grid penalty, it's really not where you want to be in the midfield; seventh makes your day a lot easier, so we'll work on it. We started 18th last year and finished on the podium, so no reason why we can't start a little bit better and do the same thing.”

Collet, who'd been in the top six in both practices in the No. 4 Combitrans Amazonia Chevrolet, was slightly disappointed with his run although ninth was his best qualifying run of the season. He will start eighth since his teammate had to take a six-spot grid penalty.
“A really strong weekend for us so far," the 24-year-old rookie said. "I think since yesterday we've been really, really quick. Today in qualifying, Q1 was really strong, and then after that I think we maybe were a bit too ambitious with the setup change, and also myself, I didn't really put a really good lap in Q2. I think we missed out a little bit on the Fast Six, but we have a really strong Combitrans Chevy for tomorrow, and I think we can move forward.”
Defending Road America race winner Alex Palou won his fifth straight pole, and sixth of the season with a lap time of 1 minute, 43.6615 seconds. Rounding out the Firestone Fast 6 were David Malukas, Marcus Armstrong, Felix Rosenqvist, Marcus Ericsson and Scott Mclaughlin.
The XPEL Grand Prix will be broadcast on FOX tomorrow starting at 2 pm ET.

In the INDY NXT by Firestone series, rookie Alessandro de Tullio claimed both pole positions in the No. 14 entry for that series doubleheader this weekend. de Tullio is now tied for the fourth most poles in a season with seven to his credit.
“Super happy to get pole here at Road America, securing the pole for both races,” de Tullio said. “It’s amazing, especially the turnaround we had from practice, where we struggled yesterday. Converting it into two pole positions today is absolutely unreal.”
Rookie de Tullio’s best lap of 1 minute, 50.9975 seconds won the pole for Race 1, with his second-best lap of 1:51.0477 grabbing the top spot for Race 2.
In Race 1, de Tullio took the lead at the start but eventual winner Lochie Hughes grabbed the lead on a lap nine restart. Then de Tullio held onto the second spot until the final lap when Josh Pierson nipped him for the runner-up spot.
Teammate Nicholas Monteiro was involved in a lap four incident which ended his race early. He escaped uninjured.
Race 2 will be broadcast on FS1 starting at 12 noon ET.
