Race Report: OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (August 9, 2026) -- The AJ Foyt Racing team knew going into the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland that the race on the 1.964-mile permanent road course would be challenging for drivers Caio Collet and Santino Ferrucci because of where they were starting.

It was.

Collet, who started 24th in the No. 4 Combitrans Amazonia Chevrolet, partly because he incurred a six position grid penalty due to an unapproved engine change, finished 20th.

"Tough race for both cars," Collet commented afterwards. "We need to understand why we struggled so much in the middle of the race. Just lacking pace in general. I think my last stint was not as bad, but just in the middle of the race, we lost a lot of time there. So, we'll try to analyze and understand why we did a couple of steps backwards in the race and come back stronger for next week."

Ferrucci, who started 21st in the No. 14 Homes For Our Troops Chevrolet, finished where he started. The 110-lap race was slowed for just two laps (7 and 8) by one caution period when Graham Rahal made contact with the wall in Turn 12. He was able to continue.

"We've just been struggling in race pace all season long," a frustrated Ferrucci said. "I think that this is a great example of that. We've missed the strategy again for the third race in a row. Just not been on our side. We will regroup and focus forward on the next street course, Markham, and see if we can't make up some ground."

Alex Palou scored his sixth victory of the season and he is well on his way to claiming his fifth NTT INDYCAR Series title in six years. Rounding out the top five were pole winner Felix Rosenqvist, Will Power, Rinus Veekay and Kyle Kirkwood.

Next weekend, the series returns to the streets -- a new venue in Markham, Ontario which is replacing the Exhibition Park street course in downtown Toronto. The Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham will be broadcast on FOX on Sunday, August 16th starting at 12 noon E.T.
